Dr. Gordon discusses concussion on the Fox 32 Chicago 9 o’clock news

Dr. Andrew Gordon was interviewed on the Fox 32 9 o’clock news this week.  Dr. Gordon discussed with Fox 32 reporters the importance of educating the public regarding concussion.  When questioned about kids and tackle football, Dr. Gordon stresses that this decision is for parents to make.  Getting educated is key.  Anyone with a concussion or sub-concussive symptoms should be evaluated by a physician, preferrably a neurologist, before return to play.  When in doubt sit out!

Dr. Gordon appeared on the Fox 32 Sunday morning news earlier this year and discused the importance of meningococcal vaccines to prevent meningococcal meningitis, an often fatal type of meningitis common in adolescents and young adults.  Dr. Gordon urges everyone to discuss this vaccine with their physician and to discuss their children’s vaccinations with their pediatrician or family doctor.
