Sandford S. Sherman, M.D. has been practicing at Northwest Neurology since 1988. He was born and raised in Chicago. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his Medical Degree from Rush University Medical School. He interned in Internal Medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center and he completed his Residency in Neurology and Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He helped develop and is the Physician Director of the award-winning stroke program at AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center, and serves as a member of the Neurosciences Advisory Board of the AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Health Network. He is also the Past-President of Northwest Neurology.
Dr. Sherman practices General Neurology and sees patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. He has a special interest in patients with Memory Disorders including Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders including cognitive and memory issues that may affect work or school performance. He works closely with the practice’s Neuropsychologist in evaluating patients in our comprehensive memory assessment program. He also has an interest in Cerebral Vascular Disease and Stroke. He has a strong interest in life style management and its role in promoting Neurological Health and believes in a Holistic approach to patient care.
He has a friendly bedside manner, and his warm approach to patients and their significant others allows for a comfortable interaction between the doctor and patient.
