Ameer Alwafai, M.D. is board certified in Neurology and Neurocritical care. He graduated from Beirut Arab University in Lebanon before moving to Florida to do 1 year of research at the university of Florida in Gainesville he studied creativity and its relationships with intelligence and personality. Dr. AlWafai then did his residency training in Memphis, Tennessee taking care of a many stroke victims. Dr. AlWafai Moved into Chicagoland area where he completed his specialized training in Neurocritical care at Rush University. He developed special interest in long term monitoring in the Neuro ICU and he has been a focus in his practice.
Ameer Alwafai, M.D. main interests are acute ischemic strokes, Subarachnoid hemorrhages and spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhages. As well as Status epilepticus. Dr. AlWafai is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and Neurocritical care society.
