Joel Ceralde, NP is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Rapid Response/Critical Care Nurse. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997 at Northern Illinois University (NIU) in DeKalb, IL. Since then, he’s been practicing in the Intensive Care Unit as well as responding to emergencies throughout the hospital as the Rapid Response Nurse. After acquiring several specialty certifications in critical care nursing, he set his goal of becoming an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN). He returned to NIU and obtained his master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2017. His passion for neurology flourished after becoming a primary neurological assessor as part of the comprehensive stroke program at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. With over twenty years of emergency and acute care setting experience, he will remain hospital-based and focus on acute neurological changes as an APN Neurohospitalist.
Joel Ceralde, NP is a very devoted provider. His approach to providing patient care is to treat each individual like they are his own family members and to give them the care they deserve. In June of 2014, he was given the DAISY Award by an internationally recognized foundation that honors nurses for exceptional and extraordinary nursing care. In JC’s spare time, if you don’t find him with his family, you may find him fishing from his kayak.
