Kelly Schaeffer, NP is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and in Nursing prior to obtaining her Master’s degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University. Her passion for neurology started with her career where she worked as a neurology nurse. She worked as part of the team that was able to transform the hospital to a comprehensive stroke center. This led to her passion for caring for patient’s that have had ischemic or hemorrhagic events.
Kelly’s practice includes all areas of Neurology, focused on the care of patient’s in the acute phase of their illness while in the hospital. She is committed to providing competent, compassionate care to all of her patient’s and to promote their individualized well-being. Her goal is to make the patient feel heard as she is dedicated to making sure she really hears each patient and their stories in order to provide the best-individualized care she can.
